admitted with pain in the right leg. Physical examination reveals a pale, pulseless,
paralysed leg. This is the third embolism in one year. The patient is in sinus
rhythm

Myxomas of the heart
are usually located in the left atrium. The benign, primary tumor presents
with atrial obstruction and systemic emboli. Notice the sinus rhythm in left
atrial myxoma in contrast to atrial fibrillation, which may cause embolism
as well.

the external iliac artery extending in the superficial and profund femoral artery
at the right side as well as a branch of the profund femoral artery at the left
side caused by left atrial myxoma
