The most severe affected systems in cystic fibrosis are the respiratory, hepatobilary
and the reproductive tract. Abnormal mucous plugging of the bronchi leads
to obstruction. That causes bronchial dilatation (bronchiectasis)
and infections, which may result in the formation of cavities.
